In January of 2010, Belleville born artist, Brian Lorimer was hired to capture the adventure of four Australians as they journeyed 14,000 km through South East Asia on motorbikes to create awareness and raise money for the Sunrise Children's Villages of Cambodia. In July of this year, Gallery ArtPlus was the only Canadian stop for Brian Lorimer and his then current body of work. After his solo show, which was a great success Gallery ArtPlus and Brian Lorimer donated a portion of the proceeds from the show to the Sunrise Children's charity.
In November Brian Lorimer and partner Margaret Melville left for Australia, previous to their journey Brian shipped over nine of his paintings in hopes more money would be raised for the Sunrise Children's Villages of Cambodia. We are happy to report Brian Lorimer sold out his latest show which was held at the famous Arthouse Hotel in Sydney, Australia. The show concluded the City2Sunrise adventure, raising the total over $135,000 for the orphans of Sunrise Children's Villages. We at Gallery ArtPlus congratulate both Brian and Margaret for their efforts and are pleased we were apart of making a difference for their charity.
Both hard and soft cover books summarizing Brian Lorimer's journey through Asia are still available here at Gallery ArtPlus and is a perfect gift for the travel lover in your family.
